Detroit put a run up in the first, shut it down for a while, then got one more for good measure off the bat of Miguel Cabrera. 2-runs. Sure enough, it wasn't enough. Ruining a bad start from Galarraga (6.1, 2 ER), Detroit looked dead with the sticks (which is becoming a theme for this season).

In the end, Oakland scored in the bottom of the 9th on a single to left after a single and sac bunt started the inning against Zach Miner.

With the White Sox winning, Detroit's AL Central lead is just 2.5 games with 40 games remaining in the season. Tomorrow's rubber match is slated for 4 PM. It's a big game.
